Prizefighter – Behind the Scenes
Michelle Herzl: 1. Amateur boxer, 2. Raw-food enthusiast, 3. Recently had a birthday.
I interviewed Herzl about women’s boxing during Prizefighter’s pre-production days. She’s, yet, another fighter who’s life is consumed by boxing.
Herzl works as a personal trainer/health coach and recently gave a lecture-pep talk about health and nutrition at The Transform Fitness and Training. She is captain of the women’s boxing team at Champs Boxing Club in New Rochelle, NY. Herzl’s other passions include posting numerous photos of the raw food concoctions she’s made.
In regards to her boxing ambitions: “It would be pretty cool to go to the try outs” for the Olympics women’s boxing team in 2016. “Women's boxing has arrived – it’s amazing to be part of the movement... I want to inspire other females to try the sport. I'm 31 and still going strong.”
Herzl will be training for The Metropolitan Championships and The Gloves this year.
PS. Champs Boxing Club is owned by coach Ryan O’Leary, the man who helped me out a great deal in finding Heather “the Heat” Hardy!) Look them up at:
