A friend of mine sent me this link after i posted about how excited I was to see Before Midnight. I always thought Julie Delpy was incredibly smart and charming in her role as Celine. This insightful article by the NYTimes captures it well. (I also love Linklater who's work always feels so genuinely free and open to life. Waking Life is one of my top 5 favorite films.)
My favorite quote from the article: “I don’t need for my characters to be the most appealing or intelligent or compassionate.
What is beautiful with life is that we are all unique. So why make cinema that is the opposite?”
Just kidding. I don't have a staff writer. Yet.
